Thank you to Dock Start at Adventures in Colt (Filly) Starting and Rebecca at There's a Horse Outside My Window, who both felt that my blog was worthy of an award. Or perhaps they were running short on newly discovered blogs to share ;)
I've been dragging my feet a bit on this one, but in the spirit of things, I'll get on board.
There are rules that go along with this award:
1.Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this award
2. Share 7 things about yourself
3.Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers
4.Contact these bloggers and tell them about the award!
1. I'm fiercely proud of being an American.
2. I like to read. My preferred genre is history, primarily the Second World War, but I look forward to Clive Cussler's latest Dirk Pitt novels.
3. If a friend needs a favor, I will help out without question. But, I will never ask anyone for help. I'm just funny that way.
4. If someone had told me six years ago that horses would be a large part of my life, I would have laughed them out of the room. Now I cannot imagine a life without them.
5. I used to be extremely introverted. I'm still not very adept at making small talk if common ground for a conversation can't be found, but I'm no longer the quiet guy in the corner.
6. I'm nostalgic. I sometimes wish I had been born to an earlier era. Not because I think life was better, but rather because it was simpler.
7. I think that riding a horse at a dead run is the most fun you can have with your clothes on.
Fifteen recently discovered blogs:
1. Spotty Horse News.
2. A Year With Horses.
3. Andy's Place.
4. Full of Love and Life.
5. Kat's Scribbles.
6. Murphy and Other Stories.
7. Observations of an Okie Biker.
8. Rockbottom.
9. When it Strikes Me.
10. Hoof 'n Barrel.
11. Life at Sweetpea's Heaven.
12. A Filly's Best Friend.
13. On a Chicken Wing and a Prayer.
14. Innominatus.
15. MiKael's Mania.
Whew! One less thing to procrastinate on.

Aww, thank you very kindly, Mr. Bucksin! You made my night...tryin' to stay warm in the 16 degree, wind-howling weather. It's a 3 wiener dog night, for sure! Now I have to think of 7 things about myself someone else might want to know. I'll work on it. Thank you, blogger friend.
Gosh, thanks for including my blog on the list. For a while I was too busy to post much at all. Now that my schedule has eased up, I have been having a bad case of Blogger's Block. But I guess you solved that with the criteria attached to the award.
Hmmm ...seven DIFFERENT things? As Kate said, the trick will be thinking of seven things someone else might actually WANT to know. LOL
Thanks! I'd better get on it!
I would like to thank God for this award. It would not have been possible without the support of my family. Honey I love you and the kids. Mom Dad your the best.
=b
Thank you BR!
Thanks so much for listing my blog. I enjoy reading your blog. Alas I need to learn to leave comments. I'll work on that. Now to come up with some facts about myself...
Thanks, BR! Very kind of you to include my Titanic...
I guess the first thing I'd reveal about myself is that I am the King of Procrastinators. So, I'll likely get this done about April.
Maybe.
Seriously, it's quite an honor, and greatly appreciated.
As above, thanks BR. It really is an honor to know that my place is worth stopping by! And like Andy, I'll prob'ly get 'er dun 'round April.
Congratulations! And thanks for sharing yourself and the lovely links.
We have a lot in common actually, I too love Clive Cussler books and wish I had been born in an earlier era. I wanted to be a vet when I grew up, but I wanted to be James Herriot and live in that time, not with the ultrasound machines and miracle drugs we have now. It seemed so much more...simple.
Pretty cool, BR.
And... it feels GOOD when the chores are done, eh? ;-)
Buckskin, thanks for thinking of me and for the award! I relisted you in my blog list simply because your blog is one that I've also discovered recently...but I certainly don't expect you to do this all over twice. Ha, Ha! (I guess if you really wanted to you could, but I doubt it.) Happy riding!
Dang BR, you described me with all except number 4 (I can't imagine being without them, but I felt the same way all my life)! Otherwise we could be brothers LOL.
Chicken Wing Kate: I hope you managed to stay warm. 16 degrees is for the birds. The seven things was a bit of a challenge for me too.
Runs With Horses: I suffer Blogger's Block on a regular occasion. It'll pass.
Kate: You're welcome!
Kipp: Just sharing the pain my friend!
Michael: I read many blogs on which I rarely comment, so no worries!
Andy: It took me two weeks to "get around to it", so I hear ya. Plus, I know your busy.
Alison: Good to hear from you! For some reason my blogger dashboard won't link to your place, but I do stop by on occasion.
Rebecca: Simpler is the attraction the past holds for me. I think that many of the things that make our lives "easier" just make us "busier". On the other hand, this internet/blog thing allows to connect with folks we might never have met, so it's a mixed blessing.
Buck: I'm honored to be visited by someone who is staying at the HIE. A true honor, sir! ;). I nearly listed your blog, but I've been reading it as long as I've been reading blogs, plus I figure you've probably had your fair share of these things, and could use a respite.
L&L: Thanks for listing me. That makes me a three timer. I will probably pass on another post, however!
Rude1: Haven't heard from you in a month of Sunday's, my friend! Glad to hear from you. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. I think we retired military types are all brothers.
Congratulations BR, a well deserved award if there ever was one. And, thanks for the pass.
Your blog I was pleasantly surprised. I wish you luck and to continue publishing
