Let it Snow??

I honestly cannot remember it ever snowing this late in the year in this part of the world. But it is, so I took the opportunity to take some pictures about an hour ago.

Smokey sez: "Global warming is hoax!"

Kenya sez: "Got any treats, Dad?"

Bailey (DN3's horse): "Aren't I photogenic?"

Dozer (DN2's horse): "Leave me alone, I'm eating!"

Blue Boy, the retired roping horse, "This ain't nothin' sonny. I remember the winter of '89!"

Mrs. BR's dun mare is up at the trainers barn, so, sadly, no pics of her enjoying our dose of global warming. Will get some up when she comes up.

Wow, I can't believe it snowed! It was 85 degrees here yesterday.
Thems some purdy horses!
Hope everyone stays warm and dry.

What a great group - And almost all willing to look at the camera!

Can you get to trails to ride from there?

Although I hate spring snows when I am longing for warm weather, right now we could sure use the moisture in OK.

I'm with Lou. I developed a life-long aversion to snow from living in Detroit and Rochester NY for 15 years, but I'd joyfully take a blizzard if it were to happen here on The High Plains of New Mexico, as we're in a serious drought.

That said... brilliant pics. And it DOES look cold!

I Love snow and I love horses. These photos made my day and it was already a corker!

I was surprised that I was able to get most of them to pose for the camera. Dozer, however, is serious about his alfalfa, and was having none of it.

Ann: The only thing close to a trail that is nearby is the service rode on the river levee. After you've ridden it twice it's rather boring. However, we are only about a 30 minute drive from any number of amazing trail systems.

Lou & Buck: We aren't having a drought, but the moisture never hurts. It actually wasn't that cold. When I took these pictures I think the mercury was hovering right around 32F. The amazing thing is that the snow is gone already.

Snow? There? Wow! I didn't think it every snowed there.

Love the horse pics. The more I see them, the more I want one.

Alison: Glad I could make a good day better!

Michelle: We don't usually get much snow in these parts. But this winter we've received quite a bit.

First Buck, now you? What's up with the snow everywhere?

The pictures are gorgeous, Buckskin. When I lived up north, I loved it when it snowed those big, fluffy flakes - so pretty.
