If/when you decide to learn, take a firearms course. You'll learn the correct way first, and it will go a long way toward demystifying guns.Dave (aka Buckskins Rule)https://www.blogger.com/profile/07764864394651709866noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7333690107350492364.post-42105013279158647882011-01-16T11:17:13.603-08:002011-01-16T11:17:13.603-08:00I think if we do start heading into more back-coun...I think if we do start heading into more back-country situations, we'll arm up. If at very least to ensure that I can put a horse down if needed. (Sorry, that's morbid, but it was recommended to us by a packing instructor.)

Lovely piece, by the way. I'd have to learn to shoot, of course. It's on the list, though!Jessica Boydhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08205857670509918766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7333690107350492364.post-90165945215151876122011-01-16T07:40:02.498-08:002011-01-16T07:40:02.498-08:00Rebecca: Sounds like your 9mm is suited for where...Rebecca: Sounds like your 9mm is suited for where your ride, and you're carrying the right ammo. Weapons must be chosen based upon the expected threat, right?

Kate: Glad to hear you pack while hiking. Truth be told, I think 2 legged varmints are probably the biggest threat out there.

Buck: It definitely forces one to have their head in the game. If you yank it out, aim and pull the trigger...nothing. Have to cock it first.Dave (aka Buckskins Rule)https://www.blogger.com/profile/07764864394651709866noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7333690107350492364.post-89368588674360347322011-01-15T11:17:59.372-08:002011-01-15T11:17:59.372-08:00Nice piece o' hardware there, BR. I'm sure I couldn't handle a .44, but a 9mm is better than nothing, I guess.Katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10847080788199771395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7333690107350492364.post-43359151229478620202011-01-14T22:55:21.606-08:002011-01-14T22:55:21.606-08:00Nice peace keeper you got there cowyboy :) I carry...Nice peace keeper you got there cowyboy :) I carry a 9mm with snake shot and a magazine of regular rounds when I ride on trail. We don't have too many problems with mountain lions, though they are around. Moreso with rattlers and the occasional umm, illegal person out camping in the desert.Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12030245285246831187noreply@blogger.com
